Rolando Romero to face Ismael Barroso in a 12 Round WBA World Super Lightweight Title Fight

Popular hard-hitting super lightweight contender Rolando “Rolly” Romero 14-1-0 (12 KO's) takes on veteran Southpaw Ismael Barroso 24-3- 2 (22 KO`s) for the Interim title inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Romero is an exciting, fan-favorite fighter known for his brash talk that he backs up with power in both hands. Barroso is the mandatory challenger to the WBA 140-pound crown. Romero made his pro debut in 2016. He won the interim WBA lightweight title in August 2020 against Jackson Marinez. "Rolly" last fought in May 2022, losing to Gervonta Davis via TKO for the WBA (Regular) lightweight title. Barroso fought to a draw in his first pro bout. He won the interim WBA lightweight title in 2015 against Kevin Mitchell but lost to champion Anthony Crolla in 2016. Since that fight, he is 5-2 in his past seven bouts and on a four-fight win streak. The fight will be live on Showtime.

Canelo (58-2-2 39 KOs) returns to his hometown of Guadalajara to face John Ryder (32-5 18 KOs) in a bout that will see the popular Mexican fighter defend his undisputed super-middleweight title. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, for the first time in 11 years, will fight on home soil. Ryder fought twice in 2022 and earned arguably the two biggest victories of his career, winning a split decision over former middleweight champion Danny Jacobs before stopping previously unbeaten Zach Parker last November.
