But on the aftermath, Canelo hints that maybe his time is up in boxing when speaking on his loss to Terence Crawford he said his body just couldn’t do what he wanted to do..
Canelo said: "We knew Crawford is a great fighter. I did what I was supposed to do, right? I tried for every way. I trained very hard. He deserves all the credit. I tried my best. I couldn't figure out the style.
“Sometimes you try, and your body can't go.. That's my frustration.
“My body can’t go anymore. I tried, but my body did not let me go. You need to accept it, that's it."
What more can we ask from a man who has given his all to the unforgiving sport of pugilism?
If he decides to hang them up, the boxing world would applaud him, but his presence, exploits and impact on the sport would be missed.
